Interestingly, George's brother Father J. Alphonse Frederick was pastor of the church from 1880-1883. He was an expert in early Catholicity in Baltimore and the history of the Catholic Church in northern Maryland. He was a ... "man of many talents, priest, poet, naturalist, historian, benefactor." Father Frederick graduated from St. Charles College and St. Mary's Seminary, and was ordained in 1874 in the Archdiocese of Baltimore. His official and personal papers, and research notes regarding the history of the archdiocese, are stored at the Associated Archives at St. Mary’s Seminary & University in Baltimore. |
